Rose M. Antis James, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at her beloved lakeside home on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Clare Martin Aquilla.
Rose is a lifetime resident of the area and has resided in Northville for the last 35 years. She attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College for criminal justice and has worked in corrections for many years. She worked lastly at Hale Creek Correctional Facility. Rose was a multi-talented and creative individual. She enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, cooking meals and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving partner of 22 years, Rick Reese of Northville; children, Colleen Riccardi of Caroga Lake, Duane Antis of South Carolina and Jamie Antis (Robert Mills) of Northville; stepchildren, Pamela Finch of Troy and Marcy (Bruce) Matis of Fort Plain; grandchildren, Heather Graves of Caroga Lake, Shayne Graves (Amber Bentley) of Stratford, PJ and Patrick Finch; sister, June Aquilla (Harout). She is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her ever so loved fur babies, Caroline and Marlana.
Family and friends are invited to visit and celebrate Rose’s beautiful life on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Service Inc., 401 Bridge Street, Northville, NY 12134. Following the visitation at the funeral home, family and friends are invited to gather at Rose’s home for continued fellowship at 649 County Highway 30, Northville.
