Frances J. Frank, 98, formerly of State Route 29, Gloversville, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Brookdale Senior Living in Liverpool, NY.

She was born in Salisbury Center, NY on April 6, 1921, the youngest daughter of John and Jessie Cool Brownell and was a 1938 graduate of Johnstown High School.

After her marriage, Frances worked at Coon’s Turkey Farm and as a pastry cook at the White Holland House. Later, she was employed at Crescendo Glove Factory in Johnstown, retiring in 1981. After retiring, she operated a clothing alteration business.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and used their RV to travel across the United States four times.

She was married to Arthur Frank on August 6, 1938. He died July 21, 1993. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Melvin; four sisters, Jennie (Fred) Winkler, Madge (Bernard) Helterline, Mary (George) Seeley, and Helen (Fred) Cary; and a brother, John (Joyce) Brownell.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Lawrence (the Rev. Sharon) Frank; six grandchildren, Deborah (Michael) Houser, Sherri (Scott) Dalton, Cynthia Metallo, the Rev. Nathan (the Rev. Jamie) Frank, Alissa Frank, and Laura (Justin) Cornell; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (corner of Route 29 and Black Street), Johnstown, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with her son, the Rev. Lawrence Frank, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Broadalbin United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
