Joan Emillie Wright of Gloversville, passed away peacefully February 8, 2021, at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was adored by many, will be greatly missed, and loved forever. Joan was born in Winooski, Vermont on December 18, 1939, to the late Marcus W. Duff and Christine Simek Duff. She instinctively knew how to make you feel like a friend and part of the family. She was a dedicated employee for many years at Sears & Roebuck in Gloversville. She loved animals and nature. She was an avid family historian and meticulously traced her family genealogy for many generations. Her other interests included sewing, knitting and building miniature dollhouses. Above all, her greatest joy was her family.

Joan was predeceased not only by her parents but also by her first husband, James F. Glover; and her second husband, Frank Wright. She is survived by her four children, James R. Glover (Tammy Dwyer), Terri G. Easterly (William B. Easterly), Christopher M. Glover (Andrea Chittenden), and Scott M. Glover (Shawnee-Lynn Glover). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Lisa Rangel, Matthew B. Easterly, Ashley C. Halter, Justin Glover, Alexandra P. Glover, Nicole E. Glover; and great-grandchildren, Meiah Rangel, Syena Rangel, Gyana Rangel, Landon Halter and Marcus Halter. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Wilson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A beautiful life

A beautiful life

That came to an end,

She died as she lived

Everyone’s friend.

In our hearts a memory

Will always be kept,

Of one we loved,

And will never forget.

The family wishes to thank all who loved Joan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to Nathan Littauer Hospital or James A.
