Frank Joseph Garwatoski Jr., age 70, of Canton, GA, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital after fighting his battle with ALS. He loved bike riding, bowling, family time and traveling. Frank worked for General Electric for 42 years. He started in 1969 as an apprentice machinist while achieving his BS in mechanical engineering from Union College. He was promoted into manufacturing management where he held key leadership positions until 1994, when he shifted his focus to the maintenance and repair of large turbine generators.
Frank retired from GE in September of 2011. The power generation industry around the world will remember him for his drive for “faster and better” but his friends and colleagues will remember him for the way he cared for people and for his ability to galvanize teams through shear personal energy.
