Nancy L. Herchenroder, age 81, a resident of Northville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born in Watertown, NY on July 29, 1939, the daughter of the late Willis E. and Dorothy Rathbun Danks.
Nancy was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherill High School, Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Nursing and then Syracuse University with a degree in Nursing.
She worked as a teacher at Mohawk Valley Community College, as a RN in Public Health, Nursing Home Administrator. She worked at St. Peter’s Hospital as a RN in Mental Health and lastly retired as an RN for Saratoga Hospice.
Nancy loved to walk with her sisters, camping in the Adirondacks, traveling to Cape Cod, Africa, North Carolina, Florida and Vermont. She loved Danks Family gatherings with her brother and especially loved reading and her faith.
Survivors include her children, Donald Paracka, Katherine (Bruce) Gray, Laura (Andy) Turner, David Paracka, stepchildren, Timothy Herchenroder and Russel Herchenroder; siblings, Linda MacKay and Rod, Barb Davis and Sonny, Cathy Scoons and Jim and Tim Danks and Linda; grandchildren, Stephen (Annie) Paracka, Alison (Joe) Chunta, Michelle DiAntonio, Sarah Grainer (Jerold Bahr), John Grainer; step-grandchildren, Lena Herchenroder and Erik Herchenroder; great-grandchildren, Polly, Maddie, Sadie, Kaitlyn, Kierstin, Kyle, Cory, Blake, Logan, Lauralie, Parker, Dylan and Emma; step-great-grandchildren, Gavin and Dahlila; one great-great-grandchild, Farrah; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell T. Herchenroder; and her grandson, Joseph Paracka.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville. A graveside service will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville, following the visitation at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.
