David F. Cook, age 76, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 20, 2021. Born in Little Falls, New York, the son of Foster G. And Norma K. Kellner Cook.
David is a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Fort Plain High School. He proudly worked for the Fort Plain Police Department many years ago as a police officer. He then worked for over 27 years at Milligan and Higgins “The Glue Factory” as a boiler operator. He was a member of the Johnstown and Gloversville Eagles club for 40 years. He served as the New York State president of the Eagles club during his membership. He enjoyed playing on the computer, reading and socializing with friends and family. Shirley and David received a cat for one of their anniversaries and since then for the last 14 years Hunter cat was by his side.
David is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley A. (Bruce) Cook. They were married on December 31, 1965. He is also survived by children, Stephen Cook Sr. (Deborah) and daughter, Kathy Cook (Kelly); grandchildren, Matthew Cook (Stephanie Carle), Rebecca Roman (Elsie), Stephen Cook (Megan), Zach Cook (Brittany) and Amy Johnson. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Foster and Norma Cook; son, David Cook; and sister, Joanne Cook.
