Robert Passino, age 87, of Johnstown, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at home with his loving wife and family by his side.
He was born on April 8, 1934, in Gloversville, to the late Leo and Dorothy Passino. He is also predeceased by a son, Warren Eide; and brothers and sister, Richard Passino, Shirley Kuebaugh, Leo Passino and Kenny Passino.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, an honorable veteran of the Korean War. He worked in the Johnstown leather business and was last employed at Crescendoes as a security guard.
Robert mostly enjoyed spending time with family. Memories of him gardening, spending time at camp, cooking Sunday dinners, collecting coins, storytelling and reminding his grandchildren to “save your money,” will be cherished forever. He was the most caring husband, father, and grandfather that anyone could ever ask for.
Survivors include the love of his life, wife of 58 years, Avis Passino; two children, Joseph Passino (Angela), Ann Emden (Dave); six grandchildren, Tara Ponzi (Dustin), Natasha Emden (Joe), Natalia House (Justin), Tianna Emden (Cody), Knicklas Emden (Hailey), Robert Passino; five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Vincent, Aurora, Violet, Maxwell; a brother, Victor Passino (Diane); many nieces and nephews; and his loving dog and protector, Tiki.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021, from noon until 1 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery immediately following the visitation.
