Frona Mae Kissinger, 79, of Walnut Street, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 27, 2021.
She was born in the town of Mayfield on December 29, 1941, a daughter of Andrew and Mildred Stanton Hoyt and lived in Vails Mills. Frona was a 1959 graduate of Broadalbin High School. She lived in Broadalbin until moving to Gloversville thirteen years ago, to be near her son.
Mrs. Kissinger worked as a beautician in the local area until her marriage and then stayed home to raise her family. Later, she became a certified home health aide and was employed by several agencies, including Visiting Nurses Association, before doing private home care.
Frona enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with family and friends. She is remembered for her devotion to her children and pouring her heart into raising and providing for them. She was a true example of a mother who put her family’s needs before her own.
She was married to Howard “Duke” Kissinger on August 6, 1960. Sadly, he died November 14, 1967. In addition to her husband and parents, Frona was predeceased by two brothers, Theron Hoyt and Robert “Bob” Hoyt. Survivors include a son, Randy (Suzanne) Kissinger of Bostic, NC; a daughter, Penny Kissinger of Gloversville; a brother, Paul Hoyt of Broadalbin; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was performed by Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A private graveside service will be held at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
