John Farrel McGuire Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, previously from Johnstown New York passed into rest on August 7, 2019, after many years of battling cancer.
Born in Gloversville on November 6, 1951, he lived his younger years on Montgomery Street in Johnstown, NY. He attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1969.
He graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland in 1973.
Upon graduating he moved to Colorado where he taught skiing for many years.
He is pre-deceased by his mother Marylin Porter McGuire, and his father John Farrell McGuire Sr.
He is survived by his two children Jonathan McGuire of Oregon and Erin McGuire of Utah. He is also survived by his brothers Michael (Catherine), Kevin (Ginger) and Timothy (Eileen).
A special memorial Mass will be held for John McGuire Jr. and his father John McGuire Sr. at the Holy Trinity Church 205 Glebe Street, Johnstown, NY on Friday, October 1st at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Ferndale Cemetery 545 N. Perry St. Johnstown.
