Paul A. Vosteen, 78, of Johnstown, NY passed into “the light” on September 27, after many months of sickness, to be with his beloved daughter, Jennifer.
He was born in Albany, NY on December 26, 1942, and from the time he was a young man he was always working. Over the years he drove Charter Coach to areas all over our country. Paul was a semi-truck owner/operator and drove for other companies as well. He was a Police Officer in Johnstown, NY and was later promoted to Sergeant. After he retired, he worked for various banks as an Asset Recovery Person. He later became a part-time school bus driver.
Paul was a very strong man with a big heart. In 1974 he met and later married the love of his life, Linda, with whom he shared a wonderful and exciting life. He was a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church and an active member of the Johnstown Eagles Club, where he had many friends.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynn Vosteen Finegan, who passed 20 years ago, leaving a terrible emptiness and great hole in his heart forever. Paul leaves behind his loving wife, Linda; his step-son Jeffrey Auspelmyer and his partner Stacy; his stepdaughter Kimberly Kirk and son-in-law Steven Kirk; Grandsons Christopher Auspelmyer of Germany; Tyler, Troy, and Thomas Kirk; two precious granddaughters, Holly Thomas and Morgan D. Finegan. Paul has other family members who have long ago moved on.
Paul’s family wishes to thank all the doctors and wonderful nurses in the ICU of Nathan Littauer Hospital for all their compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation period on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service immediately following at 15 N. William St., Johnstown, NY. An interment will immediately follow at the family plot in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, where he will be laid to rest aside his daughter Jennifer. In lieu of flowers, we ask those wishing to honor Paul in his passing, may do so by donating to The Ronald McDonald House.
