Edith M. Miles, 93, of Gloversville passed away on Thursday,
October 21, 2021 at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
She was born on May 21, 1928 to Emery E. Miles and
Mae Weaver. Edith was raised by her loving aunt, Harriet
Looman. She was a 1946 graduate of Gloversville
High School.
In her younger years, Edith worked for Schines. Later
she was employed by the Gloversville Water Works until
her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Holy
Spirit.
She loved crafting, cooking, baking, traveling, playing
games and cards. She also had a great love for dogs.
Edith is survived by many cousins, including David
Miles (Pat) of Ballston Spa, NY, Sylvia Paraschos of
Longmont, Colorado, Sharon McGillis (Dave) of Johnstown,
her “step-sister”, Freida of Mayfield, NY and special
friends Mary Ann Baldwin and Bob Hayes of Gloversville
and Gary and Marge Buboltz of Gloversville, in
addition to several nieces and nephews. In addition, she
is survived by her loving fur-baby, Casey, who meant the
world to her.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Bach and
Edgar Miles, her parents, and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held on October 26, 2021 at the
Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville,
NY. Services were conducted by the Reverend Dr. R.W.
Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect
Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to the Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile
Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
