Rose M. McGuire

Rose M. McGuire, 85, of Ridge Road, Amsterdam
passed away on Saturday November 6, 2021, at Ellis
Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She was born at home in the town of Broadalbin
on February 7, 1936, a daughter of Ernest and Mattie
Ross Stutzke and attended local schools. Rose was a
lifelong area resident and enjoyed wintering in Florida
for twenty-six years.
At one time, she and her husband, Frank, operated
the Snowed Inn on Midline Road. She also assisted
him in operating McGuire’s Electronics. Later, Rose
and Frank owned and operated McGuire’s Produce
in Gloversville for forty-two years.
She was a dedicated garage “saler” and always enjoyed
finding treasures to share. Rose also loved socializing
with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by two sons, Frank Jr. and Brian; and four brothers,
Kenneth, Martin, Raymond, and John Stutzke.
Survivors include her husband, Frank McGuire,
whom she married on June 28, 1957; four children,
Raymond (Amy) McGuire of the town of Root,
Deborah (Gordon) Suits of Deland, FL, Robert Mc-
Guire (Terry) of Broadalbin, and Roberta Ballou
(Ken) of Mayfield; ten grandchildren; twenty-two
great-grandchildren; several extended family members;
and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium,
Schenectady. A celebration of her life will be
held on Sunday November 14, 2021, at the American
Legion on Main Street, Broadalbin from noon – 4
p.m. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral
Home, Inc., Johnstown.
