George “Mac” V. McDonald passed away December 8, 2021 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital with his loving wife at his side.
Born on August 13, 1929 in Valley Falls, NY, son of the late Albert J. and Eliza Rebecca (Trudell) McDonald.
He was married to the love of his life, Ursala (Ciaccio) for 47 wonderful years.
He was employed by Platt Whitney, General Electric, Schenectady, retiring in 1991. Following his years at G.E., his greatest wish was to retire to Florida for the winter months. His wish was realized and he and Ursala enjoyed 30 years of winter months in Florida.
Mac enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and skiing. He owned three boats and enjoyed going down the Hudson River.
Survivors include his wife, Ursala; his children, Larry (Cherie), Theresa (Gordon) Furbush, and Debbie Loetscher; his grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Brett, Jack, Tyler, Shannon, and Johnny; ten great – grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Albert; sisters, Helen and Margaret; and two nephews, David and Aubrey.
In keeping with Mac’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Red Cross or an organization of your choice.
