Mrs. Ruth A. Arnold, R.N., 93, of Gloversville, New York, died on Saturday December 11, 2021 at Nathan Littauer Hospital of Gloversville, following an illness.
She was born on July 19, 1928 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Earl and Bernice (Farrington) Fancher. She graduated from Gloversville High School and decided to further her education by earning a nursing degree from the Nathan Littauer School of Nursing, and was later employed as an RN by Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was a proud alumni of the Nathan Littauer School of Nursing and was a devout Christian.
When Ruthie wasn’t at work she enjoyed social activities such as traveling, playing card games (such as pitch) and dominoes, and she loved watching sports, particularly Football and Hockey. She also enjoyed quieter activities, such as fishing and gardening. She especially loved cultivating blueberries, and she had over 50 plants that she raised. Her primary love, however, was her family and her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children: Linda (Angel) M. Arnold-Pando, Jeffrey (Bev) Arnold, and Janet Levine; her grandchildren: Sarah Pando, Rebecca Levine, Scott (Sarah) Goodbread, Kari (Andrew) Banta, and Daniel Levine; her great-grandchildren: Wyatt Goodbread, Gwendolyn Goodbread, Amelia Goodbread, Eleora Goodbread, and Gideon Goodbread; and his siblings: Genevieve (Late Bill) Coon, David (Beryl) Fancher, Mavis (Late Coral) Ide, Donald (Late Betty) Fancher.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her sister; Eleanor (Dick) Reed.
A graveside interment service will take place in the Spring of 2022 at Ferndale Cemetery.
