Justin Nathaniel Thurber

Fort Edward – Justin N. Thurber, 36, of Fort Edward, formerly of Broadalbin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Born in Gloversville on December 24, 1985, Justin was the son of Ned and Leanne Loucks Thurber.
He was raised and educated in the Broadalbin-Perth School District.
Justin had an extraordinary work ethic, often working seven days a week. He took great pride being an equestrian caretaker/groom, and was employed by several reputable equine farms over the years. He worked several years at the Saratoga race track before taking his most recent position at Jordan DeRue’s horse farm in Argyle. After caring for the horses all day, Justin enjoyed working at his seasonal side business seal coating driveways in the tri-state area, often working until nightfall.
He had many interests including movies and music. He was also an outdoor enthusiast, occasionally enjoying hunting, fishing and bonfires.
In addition to his mother and father, Justin is survived by a brother, Jared R.E. Thurber of Amsterdam; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 3 – 4 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams, officiating. In accordance with current health guidelines, facial coverings and social distancing are required.
