Charles P.L. Malaret

Gloversville – Charles P.L. Malaret, age 95, of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. Born on November 11, 1926, in Paris, France, he was the son to the late Pierre and Germaine (Pilloux) Malaret.
Charles was employed at Lee Dye for many years. He then went to work for General Electric the steam turbine unit until he retired. Charles was an honorary member of the Concordia Club in Gloversville. He served as an usher at the Immaculate Conception church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the harmonica, golfing, badminton, and bicycle riding.
He married his beloved wife, Josephine C. Malaret on June 30, 1956, until her passing on April 1, 2015.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Bernadette Malaret (Bill Cook), Angela Malaret; sister-in-law, Anna Crisafulli; sister, Suzanne Hudnall; 2 grandchildren, Katherine Cook, Christopher Cook; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles is predeceased by his sister, Mimi Jean.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, 205 Glebe St, Johnstown, NY 12095.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Spring burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charles’ memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Inc., 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown NY.
