Newark, AR - Helen Lucy (Poultney) Tarvin, 62 of Newark, Arkansas died Saturday, February 5, 2022 after a long illness. She was formerly a resident of Johnstown, NY. Helen was born July 6, 1959 in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of Herbert W. and Pauline E. Poultney. She attended Fonda-Fultonville Central School and always lived her life as a free spirit. Helen found the good in many and was loved. She had many friends and family that enjoyed her individuality, and she will truly be missed. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, twins Eric (Lacey) Payne of Mountain View, Arkansas and Chad (Sheena) Payne of Cleburne, Texas, and John VanEvera of Mountainview, 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is survived by 5 sisters, Celia (Bill) Henry of Johnstown, Deir-tra (Bob) Baker of Gloversville, Lenora (Tony) Fiorenza of Charleston, Vicki (Rance) Owens of Johnstown, and Katrina (David) Owens of Fort Plain; and 2 brothers, Herbert W. Poultney Jr. of Gloversville and Darryl A. Poultney of Johnstown; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Tarvin; brother, John W. Poultney; and sister, Hope L. Denison. A private celebration of life was held on February 9, 2022.
