Daniel Lee Bazan

PHOTOGRAPHER:

Galway – Daniel Lee Bazan, 38, of Fayville Road, Galway, died on May 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle against esophageal cancer.
Born in Schenectady on January 17, 1984, he was a son of Phyllis and Bob Bazan. His father left this world before Dan to ensure Dan a safe landing.
Dan was employed by Stewart’s Shops for many years, awarding him with a close community of coworkers. Dan only broadened his selfless nature when he started work at the Walmart Distribution Center in Johnstown. He was a devoted employee, compassionate coworker, and humble human.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He gained passion playing guitar, manning the fire pit or grill, or catching fish! Dan dedicated his life to making sure the people he met were left with a smile; he could say so much in so few words. The loss of this honorable man will forever weigh heavy on our hearts.
Survivors to mourn this incredible loss include his loving wife, Tasha Bagley- Bazan; stepdaughter, Gwen Bagley; mother, Phyllis Bazan of Galway; brother, Bobby Jr. (Amber) Bazan of Amsterdam; sister, Becky (Tim) Verity of Galway; loving in-laws, Tina and Lloyd Bagley of Galway; two nieces; three nephews; and his dog, Skittles.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m.-noon and from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 and Black Street) Johnstown. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Dykema, officiating. Interment will be in West Galway Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made Dan’s memory to esophageal cancer research in care of the funeral home.
Dan’s family would like to extend special gratitude to Walmart Distribution Center and the coworkers he grew to truly love. The help they altruistically gave during Dan’s battle with esophageal cancer was invaluable. Dan’s life ended too quickly and he left a large circle of family and friends who will never be forgotten.
