Kimberly Anne (Ashbey) Mashhadi

Kimberly Anne (Ashbey) Mashhadi, 58, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Born in Gloversville, to Beverly and William Ashbey, Kim attended Mayfield Elementary and High Schools. Kim then attended FMCC, University of Rhode Island, and The College of Saint Rose. She acquired her Masters in Social Work and Masters in Teaching, before becoming a teacher at Mayfield Elementary School.
Kim was deeply devoted to her family and her students. Teaching was much more than a career to her; she would always refer to her students as “her own kids”. She always enjoyed her morning runs and worked her way up to running half-marathons and Ragnar races. Her grandchildren, who knew her as “Mimi”, were her whole world. She would always wake up with the sun and play her music, singing and dancing in the kitchen. She was an avid bowler and traveled to compete at state level. Kim loved to travel and explore, especially on yearly family trips with her children and husband. “It is the journey, not the destination!”, she would always say. Her German Shepherd dogs, Rugar and Beyla, held a special place in her heart.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, William and Beverly Ashbey. She is survived by her husband, Anas Mashhadi of Gloversville, her children; Matthew Mashhadi (Rawan), and Samantha Anne Subik, and grandchildren; Lara Ann Mashhadi, and Charlotte Ann-Mashhadi Subik. She is also survived by her siblings Christopher Ashbey, Stephanie Moniz (Andrew), and Bradley Ashbey (Melanie).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main Street, Gloversville, NY on Thursday June 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. with an interment ceremony to follow shortly afterwards at Ferndale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brian Mackey and Kari Bezio of the Northville Funeral and Gloversville Funeral Service. Condolences may be made to the family online at
