Fort Wayne - John J. Lawlor, 92, of Fort Wayne passed on Thursday, February 24, 2022.  John was the son of the late Joseph and Hazel Lawlor. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan. He also served in Korea where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with four stars and a Bronze Star Medal.  He was employed by GTE in various positions in Middletown, Pulaski and Johnstown, New York and Fort Wayne and Westfield, Indiana retiring as a manager.  He was a Charter Member of the Pulaski Lions Club; past member and Officer of the Middletown Lions Club; past President of the Middletown Safety Council; past officer and Director of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce; past Line Officer and member of McQuoid Engine and Ladder Company; member of Middletown Elks Lodge #1097; member of Middletown American Legion Post #151.  He was a resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana since 1978 and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
John is survived by his wife, Thelma; two daughters, Kathleen (Tom) Bush and Maureen (Ron) Rosenkeimer; four sons, Michael (Kelly), Stephen (Jodie), Mark (Jill) and Brian Lawlor; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
Preceding him in death are his sister, Catherine Kearns; brother, Joseph Lawlor, Jr. and daughter in-law, Christy Lawlor.
A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, IN. 
Burial with Military Honors will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY. 
A Celebration of Life will be August 6, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm at Hales Mills Country Club, 146 Steele Rd, Johnstown, NY 12095
