Alice Lynn (Spelman) Wentworth

Norway, ME – Alice Lynn (Spelman) Wentworth passed on April 2, 2022 at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center in Norway, Maine. Alice was the daughter of William and Lois Spelman of Gloversville, NY. She was predeceased by her parents. Alice is survived by her brother, William Howard Spelman of Webster, New York and her husband of 29 years, Merle Wentworth, of Fryeburg, Maine. Alice is also survived by children and grandchildren in a large extended family.
She was a graduate of Gloversville High School Class of 1955 and Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, where she earned her nursing degree. After she graduated from Albany, she moved to California to work in the Kaiser Permenente hospitals in several Departments including being a head nurse in surgery.
She later moved to New Hampshire, and over the course of the next 35 years worked as a registered nurse in several different facilities. She was a supportive and attentive colleague, and a dependable and knowledgeable nurse, retiring after a long and dedicated career. She also was dedicated to the health and safety of animals and served as a member of the board for the Harvest Hills Animal Shelter.
Alice Lynn had a sense of passion for those around her. Her friendships were deep and loyal. She always had an infectious sense of humor, accompanied by a bit of mischief and a twinkle in her eye, and an amazing smile. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Alice was cremated on April 5, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, Route 302, Fryeburg, Maine 04037, in her name.
