William P. Grady

Johnstown - William P. Grady “Bill”, age 74, of Johnstown, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home. 
Born on March 14, 1948, in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Thompson) Grady. 
In his early teens, Bill moved to Downsville, NY where he was surrounded by the loving family of Jim and Veronica Wall. After graduating from Downsville Central School, he attended FMCC and in 1968 began his long career with New York State, retiring from the NYS Civil Service Department.
Bill spent many years coaching teams and his sons in the Johnstown Little League. He had many hobbies throughout the years including stamp collecting, collecting baseball cards, building models and most of all, fishing. But more than anything, Bill loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
He also loved his 40 plus years of making special memories with his family during their vacations at the Outer Banks. He and his wife Fran also had great times visiting Ireland, Hawaii, Mexico and Florida with their family.
Bill married his loving wife, Fran (Gifford) Grady, on December 7, 1968, who survives. 
He is also survived by his two sons, Sean Grady (Addie), Aaron Grady (Amy); brother, Jay Wall (Mary); sister, June Fitch (Dar); grandchildren, Maeve, Makenna, Delaney, and Flynn. In addition, Bill is survived by his Gifford family, Ed Gifford (Steph), Terry, Sue (Bob), Dee, and Mark (Lorrie) as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his brothers, John and Dan Wall and his sisters, Ronnie, Pat, Mary (Sister Veronica James) and Gar Wall and his much loved brothers-in-law, Joe Davis and Dave Pawlowich.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A celebration of a life well spent will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown NY.
