Charles W. Vaughn

Gloversville – Charles “Charlie” W. Vaughn, age 75, of Gloversville, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, peacefully at his home with his brother by his side.
Born on April 6, 1947, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Virgil “Ray” and Geraldine (Boyd) Vaughn.
Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army for 2 years and the United States Navy for 4 years. He was employed at Spaulding in Johnstown, NY, as a grip foreman upon retiring from the Navy. Charlie was a jack of all trades. He is a former member of the VFW #2077. Charlie was active member of the American Legion and Gloversville Moose. Him and his brother, Ron always looked forward to the Army Navy game and Charlie always won. He is survived by his children, Charles Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Shane Vaughn, Damien Vaughn, Brian Vaughn, Trey Vaughn, Christine Vaughn, Holly Vaughn; brother, Ronald Vaughn (Sharon); grandchildren, Cadence Vaughn, Alexis Vaughn, and Sidney Vaughn; as well as several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Charlie is predeceased by his sister, Debbie Vaughn; grandchild, Hunter DeGroat; stepdaughter, Jodi Whitman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home,215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown with military honors.
A celebration of life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion, Gloversville, NY, all are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to the Fulton County Regional SPCA,117 W Fulton St, Gloversville, NY 12078. (
