Marie Hall

Fort Johnson – Marie Hall, 85, of Sacandaga Road, Fort Johnson, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She joins her beloved husband and son.
She was born in Johnstown on August 27, 1937, a daughter of Jacob and Gabrielle Benoit Hall and proudly graduated from Johnstown High School in 1956. Marie was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Hall was employed as a bus driver for the Perth Central School district and retired in 1996 after twenty-five years of service.
Marie was a member of her class reunion committee for sixty years and attended every reunion through 2021.
She was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She could always be seen at her son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Marie also enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and NASCAR.
In 1957, Marie married her best friend, Duane Hall, and they were able to celebrate fifty-nine happy anniversaries before his passing in 2016. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Timothy; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Olin Holland; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sis Hall; brother, George Hall; and brother-in-law and his wife, William and Dorothy Hall.
Survivors include a son, Thomas (Debbie) Hall; three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Lindsay Hall (Charles), Steven Hall, and Kyle Hall (Tina); three step grandchildren, Chad (Alicia) King, Kelly (Dick) Perham, and Heather King (Josh); several nieces, nephews, and treasured friends, and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hall.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sandra Geer, officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., in honor of her husband, in care of the funeral home.
Her family extends special thanks to the East Wing at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.
