Poughkeepsie – It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the passing of June M. Manfredi, 85, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, NY. June died peacefully at home Saturday, October 22, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Born on July 3, 1937 in Johnstown NY. She was the daughter of Edward Robert Roddy and Elizabeth Florence Burr. She married her sweetheart John A. Manfredi Jr, on September 12, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Church, Johnstown, NY.
After graduating from Johnstown High School June went on to complete her Nursing Degree from St Peter’s Hospital for Nurses in Albany NY in1958.
Some of June’s passions were her annual family beach vacations, gardening, reading and baking. June cherished her weekly Meals on Wheels deliveries with her friends and neighbors for many years. She always gave back to the less fortunate. Many remember June as a kind and soft-spoken person. She always found the good in everyone
June was a communicant of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Hyde Park NY.
June was preceded by her beloved husband John A. Manfredi Jr of 61 years on November 4, 2020. June is survived by her five children, Duke Manfredi and wife Denise of Raleigh, NC, James Manfredi and companion Kathy Corey of Hyde Park NY, Theresa Bialosuknia and husband Steve of West Hills, CA, Maureen Manfredi- Long and husband Scott of Plantation, FL, Gina Manfredi of Coconut Creek, FL. She is also survived by four treasured grandchildren: Tanner Bialosuknia, Hunter and Dakota Long and Sasha Seetaram. June is also survived by her brothers James Roddy and wife Donna and John Roddy and wife Brenda all of Glenville NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park, NY. Burial followed at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
June’s family respectfully requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Heart Association.
