Amsterdam – Gone, but not forgotten.
Matthew Hagar Orlosky, 66 a laborer at Anderson-Negele, and Amsterdam, NY resident passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Monday April 17th, 2023.
Matthew is survived by his three sons; Paul Orlosky, Nicholas Orlosky, Alexander Orlosky; his four grandchildren, Ivy Patterson, Julian Orlosky, Lalu Orlosky and Sasha Orlosky; his brothers, Luke Orlosky, John Orlosky, Jacob Orlosky and David Orlosky; his sisters Rachael Orlosky-Apunte, Rebecca Pecorino, Martha Figueroa. He is predeceased by his father Richard Orlosky; his mother Patricia Hess; his brother Mark Orlosky; and sister Melissa Orlosky.
Matthew was born in Denver Colorado on October 10th, 1957 to Patricia Hess and Richard Orlosky. He graduated from Gloversville High School and obtained his associates degree from FMCC. Matthew served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman. He also served as an officer in the Army National Guard, serving at the Gloversville Armory and as company commander for the Amsterdam Armory.
Matthew was an avid musician and multi-instrumentalist. Matthew inspired many musicians and artists with his music and his fashion. He was an outdoor enthusiast; loved canoeing, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a spiritual Christian, his faith never wavering. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on April 29th at the Rockwood Cemetery in Rockwood New York. Minister R.W. Williams will officiate, and organized by Amico Funeral home in Gloversville, NY. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at the funeral service in Rockwood.
