Northville – Michael Lastro, age 80, a resident of Northville passed away on Saturday April 8, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center. His battle with serious medical issues over the years showed his determination and courage. He faced challenges with grit and a smile and stayed strong to the end. Mike was born in Bosnia (Yugoslavia) on March 23, 1943. The son of the late; Jozo Lastro and Kata Pavlovic-Lastro.
He was a United States Marine Veteran serving from 1968 to 1974. Michael was employed as a Truck Driver for Leaseway Transportation in Port Newark, NJ for many years.
Survivors include his wife; Elaine Villa- Lastro of Northville. Son; Daniel Lastro of Amsterdam. Daughter; Michele Lastro-Claburn (Keith) of Fonda. Brother; Matt Lastro (Debbie) of NJ. Sisters; Anda, Lucy and Rose. Grandchildren; Adrian Claburn, Daniel Lastro and Kristian Lastro. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive him.
Family and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday April 12, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Northville with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
