Gloversville – Gary A. Simonds Sr., 72, passed away April 30 due to complications of dementia.
Born October 18, 1950 in Gloversville, NY, the son of the late Arthur and Sarah (Stuart) Simonds.
He is survived by his loving wife Crysti; sons Gary (Brittany) Simonds Jr; Jeff Simonds; Lori (Derrick) Vandish; brother; sisters; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins.
Gary rests in peace but we will all remember him as the hell-raising jokester he was.
He graduated from Oppenheim Ephratah Central School. Gary worked at Karg Brothers Tannery until the 1990’s. After that he worked security and as a butcher.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker, and NASCAR.
Gary chose to donate his body to the Albany Medical College Anatomical Gift Program. A memorial service will take place upon the conclusion of medical studies.
Our family would like to express their sincere thanks to The Grand at Rome for caring for Gary the last 2 1/2 years of his life, especially the staff on Wing 1 and the wonderful Skypes the Activities Department provided.
