Amsterdam – Judy was born in Jackson Heights, Queens to Marion and Frank E. Yarasezski. She was a graduate of Amsterdam High School, class of 1962. Upon graduation she was employed as a secretary with Mohasco. She met Bob in 1966, and two years later they married and started their family. Together they operated Frank’s Auto Service since 1981.
Judy considered it her most important accomplishment to have raised three loving and caring daughters. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her girls, her cherished grandson, and her special four-legged grandkids.
Judy will be forever loved and missed by Robert Jr., Susan and Brian Edwards, Debra Montenaro, Amy and Keith Ackerknecht, and Hayden Ackerknecht. Additional survivors include her brother Frank, Pat Yarasezski, Diane Wadsworth, David and Chris Montenaro, her treasured nieces and nephews, and her life-long friend Joyce.
As she leaves behind her earthly family, Judy’s spirit joins her angel daughter Carol Ann, her parents Marion and Frank, and her in-laws Clara and Robert Sr.
It was Judy’s hope that anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory consider the Montgomery County SPCA (P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010, mc-spca.com/wp), to provide care for shelter pets awaiting their forever homes, or the Ohana Foundation (ohanafoundationinc.org), to provide support and funeral assistance for families grieving the loss of a baby.
As her last good deed in this world Judy donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College. It was her desire to inspire others to share a final act of selflessness and hope for the future.
Judy was able to enjoy her bonus time in the comfort of home surrounded by the love of family thanks to the compassion of her caregivers, especially Colleen, along with her Community Hospice team. Her family is grateful for these special people, their kindness, and their love.
“That’s that.”
