Gloversville – William J. Wood, Jr; 65, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born August 8, 1957 in Unadilla, NY, the son of William and Carolyn (Williams) Wood. A 1975 graduate of Gloversville High School, Bill served in the US Army from 1975 to 1978. He was later employed as a production manager by Spalding Worldwide and Callaway Inc. of Johnstown, NY. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his sons. He also really enjoyed watching the NY Mets and the NY Giants.
Bill is survived by three children, Matthew Wood, Willis Wood (Courtney), Jessica Wood; and his father,
William J. Wood Sr; two sisters, Candy Insonia and Melissa Muddle; five grandchildren, his children & mother, Barbara Manzer; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn E. Wood.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
Private Interment with Military Honors will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
