Fultonville – Charles W. Yurgans, Sr. 83, formerly of State Highway 30A, Fultonville, NY passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday morning,June 2, 2023.
Charles was born in Amsterdam, NY on September 21st, 1939, the son of the late Theodore and Freida Yurgans. He was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and continued higher education in the military and FMCC.
Charles served in the United States Coast Guard 1958 through 1962 and served on the USCGC OWASCO (WPG-39) as a Machinist’s Mate Second Class.
After military service, Charles worked at Beech-Nut, Canajoharie, NY where he retired from in 2009. Charles was an avid family man, loving husband, uncle, grandfather, golfer and a huge fan of all forms of automobile racing.
Charles was married to the love of his life Doris A. Kruger on November 28, 1964.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Freida; father, Theodore; brother, Harry; sisters, Eleanor & Janice.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Doris; sons, Charles Jr. and Gary (Deborah) and his granddaughter, Courtney; his brother, Don as well as additional extended family and lifelong friends.
Special thanks to cousins, Joan and Jean; friends Howard and Casey for all their love and support providing care, fulfilling his lifelong request to be at home for his final days.
A private graveside service will be held at Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in Charles’ name can be made to the Community Hospice,179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.
