Gloversville – Gladys M. “Lagueux” Van Slyke, age 85, of Gloversville, NY, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
Born on April 20, 1938, in Branford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mariannge (Desilets) Lagueux.
She was employed with Lee Dye for many years in Johnstown, NY.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Christine Hayes; sons, Richard Van Slyke Jr. (Robin); Stepson, Brian Ferguson (Marla); sister, MaryJane Van Slyke; grandchildren, Matthew Van Slyke (Lisa), Nathan Van Slyke (Raelynn); great grandchildren, Jackson, Marlia, Preston, Xander, and one on the way.
In addition to her parents, Gladys is predeceased by her son, David Joseph Van Slyke; brother David Lagueux.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
Memorial contributions in Gladys’ memory may be made to the SPCA, or the Wounded Warriors.
