Mayfield – Lee G. Olmstead, 75, of Mayfield passed away on June 1, 2023, with his loving family by his side at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, NY; Born in Gloversville, NY; on February 11, 1948, Lee is the son of the late Milo G. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Dutcher) Olmstead.
Survived by his loving wife whom he united with marriage with on August 7, 2016, Tina J. (Erb) Olmstead. Children Kelly Sullivan Peggy Buyukasik, Michael Olmstead, and by his siblings Linda Olmstead, Debra (Robert) Countryman, Ella (Gary) Ryder, Randy (Jan) Olmstead. Lee is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with many people he gathered into his heart along his journey called life.
Besides his parents Lee is predeceased by his nephew Randy Olmstead Jr, and by his grandnephew Skyler Olmstead.
Lee was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed, and self-made man who loved with a heart as big as his stature.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday June 7, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
