Johnstown – Maria Lyn Calhoun, age 77, a resident of Johnstown, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Gloversville, NY, on April 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ethel (Shutlts) Siebe.
Maria is survived by her devoted husband of thirty-one years, Albert Calhoun Jr. who she married on October 3, 1992, her cherished children, Stacy Howton (Richard) of Virginia, and Wayne Marvin (Stephanie) of Arkansas; brother Kenneth Siebe Jr.; grandchildren, Logan, Shannondoa, Jenah, and her six great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her loving parents and her five siblings.
Maria attended the Fonda School District. Her caring nature found an outlet in her professional life as a caregiver at Lexington in Johnstown, NY, a role she found immensely fulfilling. She was head of the Women with Heart Disease organization for many years. Outside her professional commitments, Maria enjoyed crafting and crocheting, activities that displayed her creativity. She loved spending time with her closest loved ones, maintaining a strong network of friendships that she cherished. Maria was enamored with her faith. She was an active member of the Fonda Fultonville United Methodist Church.
Her loss leaves a significant void, but her spirit will continue to inspire and strengthen those she has left behind.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
