It has recently come to my attention, via the world of social media, the seemingly beloved mayor of Gloversville, Dayton King, has been inciting fear among the citizens whom he was elected to serve. He has posted obvious lies. This greatly concerns those of us who spend our lives striving for education. There is an obvious need for any leader, no matter his or her position, to do the same.
He shows utter disregard for the truth in general, using terms such as “my police” and “get ready for police to come to your house and get your guns in a year or so.” In no way, shape or form does the new state legislation say that.
King’s inability to separate facts from delusion and politics from insight should be the real fear of the people, not our state lawmakers.
