District puts kids at risk

It is an utter amazement that in a era when the United States government is pushing gun control, armed guards in schools and a better understanding on mental health, the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District got rid of its school psychologist, Michael J. Fraser.

Fraser is very much, by definition, trained in mental health issues. Perhaps if there were more people like Fraser in our country who were willing to go out of their way to help our children when they are having feelings of murder, suicide and strange thoughts, horrid acts like those at Sandy Hook, Columbine or the attempted assassination of a congresswoman could be avoided.

I strongly urge the FFCS leadership to help save our children from unstable individuals and reconsider the firing of Fraser. In my view, by firing Fraser, the school district is putting our children at risk.

Are you willing to let a crazy individual be formed in the school because of a lack of a psychologist? If so, sit back and play football.
