Regarding some of the statements in Frank DeSantis’ letter to the editor published Feb. 15: Net deficit for eight years under Bush was $1.699 trillion; net deficit for four years under Obama was $5.605 trillion. Additionally, the 2007 recession was declared officially “over” in June/July 2009.
While the recession ended, the recovery has faltered badly.
