Representatives failing

I would like to ask the rest of the people living in this state and the entire country why it is that the representatives we put in office are not doing the job they promised to undertake?

More and more city, state and federal officials are being caught doing illegal things when they should be setting a good example for the rest of us to follow.

Unfortunately, when someone in an authoritative position gets caught doing something wrong they usually only get a slap on the wrist. When John Q. Public gets caught, it’s a different story.

But aside from all that: What’s up with four people meeting behind closed doors to decide what cuts should be made to the state’s budget or any other matters pertaining to the welfare of our state? What are we paying all those other people for?

They say they want to give the working class a break by giving a household grossing between $40,000 and $100,000 at $350 credit for each child in the family. What about the families making less than $40,000? Maybe they are not very good at math. Even at $10 an hour, a 40 hour week is only $400 before taxes. If no taxes were taken out, you would still only gross $20,800 for the year. How many of our illustrious senators could live on $20,000 or $40,000? How many of our “leaders” have to worry about health costs, Medicare and Social Security? We, the working class, support them in all these areas. Maybe we have given them too much power, and have spoiled them like so many of the kids today. Maybe it’s time we asked, what the hell is going on?
