I am a U.S. veteran with two honorable discharges on my wall. Along with that, I have 30 years as an emergency responder. I served my country and continue to serve my community with great pride.
I am sad and disappointed to see that many business owners did not lower our flag to half- staff on 9/11. I understand that some people don’t think it’s really necessary to lower the flag. My response to that is that it’s not only necessary, but also a common courtesy to show respect on this date. I also believe it is an insult and a slap in the face to all involved on this day of remembrance.
If you decide not to show our flag in a proper manner, then please, folks, don’t fly our flag at all.
