Demolition hurts Caroga

This is addressed to the Caroga Town Board:

I am one of many who think tearing down the old school is a slap in the face to many of us who spent 12 years there. Of course, all the new imports don’t have a clue about its history.

The school was built in 1856 and could have been restored, which is better than trying to make the town another New York City. You would probably like it if us “old-timers” would just fade away, but we’re still here and think you made a big mistake by tearing that school down.

Didn’t you know the school could have been restored to keep it in the town as a landmark? Evidently not, because you’re not a native.
