How to revive downtown Gloversville?
Why not create a new outlet store mecca?
Presently, we have to drive to Lake George, of all places, to enjoy such shopping where name brands unload their fashions, we assume, at a discount.
But if Gloversville buys into such a plan, they better hurry because Canajoharie is toying with the idea of turning the old Beech-Nut plant into an outlet destination.
Frankly, Gloversville seems better designed to host such an innovation.
How to lure tenants would be the problem. Maybe tax incentives and an assurance of publicizing the project would help.
