The Gloversville Lions Club has been “serving” in the city of Gloversville for nearly 80 years, purchasing eyeglasses and hearing aids for those in need, collecting food items for local food pantries, scholarships, and sponsoring community dinners, etc. The Gloversville Lions Club is looking for new members to take up where some of the “seasoned” Lions have left off. Lions Club International is the largest service organization in the world with 1.4 million members all striving to make a difference in their communities. The Gloversville Lions are no different.
If you are interested in becoming a Lions Club member, please consider attending the next Gloversville Lions Club meeting on Monday at the Plaza’s Italian Bistro at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, or 7 p.m. to just attend the meeting. Please contact Lion Verna Plummer at (518) 605-6105 for more information or log onto www.lionsclubs.org, or check out the Gloversville Lions Club — NY Facebook page for updates on upcoming community service projects or fundraisers.
We currently have a food drive scheduled on Sunday at the Hannaford supermarket from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Gloversville, so please support us if you can.
The Gloversville Lions Club is here to “serve” in whatever capacity the city of Gloversville needs, we just need more Lions members in order to do it. Please consider joining us to help others through community service and make a difference.
We serve.
