The election of William Rowback as Gloversville’s new mayor brings up the question as to whether he, as a retired fireman, will be permitted to vote on civil servant contracts. He will be supported by his pension and this should create a conflict of interest.
Which brings up the question as to who supervises such problems: the city attorney, the county district attorney or the state attorney general. There seems to be no enforcement of this violation as school boards often see retired teachers serving.
