Do I want my taxes to go up? I’d be foolish if I said yes and everyone would think I was either lying or crazy.
Do I have issues where some of my money goes concerning the Greater Johnstown School District? Yes I do, but I understand that denying a tax increase because I don’t agree with parts of the budget will do more harm to the community as a whole than good.
Are there those on fixed incomes who just can’t afford the increase? Yes there are and I have no answer for them, only the suggestion that maybe they could look into different agencies to see if they can get help with things like heating cost, rent or health insurance to alleviate the extra burden.
The one thing I do know for sure is we cannot let our future generations down and need to vote yes on the upcoming school budget.
