Kennedy lifts Schoharie past Mayfield in double-overtime — Boys’ soccer

Schoharie prevailed over Mayfield 1-0 in double overtime in a Western Athletic Conference boys’ soccer game. Nolan Kennedy provided the storm the win after 95 minutes of scoreless soccer. Schoharie was awarded a penalty kick after a handball was called in the box. Mayfield keeper Sean Forman initially made the save on the attempt, but Kennedy played the rebound for the game-winning goal. Schoharie goalie Nick Hyatt compiled 21 saves in the win, while Forman had eight saves.

Galway defeated OESJ 8-1, as Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored four goals, with one assist. Francesco Fabbri Medina tallied 4 assists in the effort, while Chris Maher, Eben Perkins, Colin Anderson and Tyler Friedman also scored for Galway. Perkins and Aidan Reekie-Mell each had assists. Dylan Barnes scored for OESJ to avoid the shutout.

Voorheesville defeated Albany Academy 3-2 in Colonial Council action. Amos Stack scored twice for Albany Academy, and Mike Malatino contributed an assist.

Mechanicville won a non-league contest over Cohoes 3-1. Rece Dyer, Logan Starks and Ethan Raucci scored goals in the win for Mechanicville, while Alex Shakow and Declan Charette contributed assists. Joey DeVito had eight saves for Mechanicville, and Charlie Gendron tallied 11 saves for Cohoes.
