Montanaro earns honors at Sage

ALBANY – The Sage Colleges’ department of athletics has announced the creation of a new team to recognize the program’s scholar-athletes.

Sage has created the Sage Scholar-Athlete Team. With the completion of the Fall of 2012 semester, Sage has 38 student-athletes that have garnered a spot on the scholar-athlete team.

Amsterdam graduate Shelbi Montanaro, a member of the Sage women’s cross-country team was named to the scholar-athlete team after posting a 3.563 GPA for the fall semester.

Montanaro is an occupational therapy major.

The Sage Scholar-Athlete team recognizes Sage Student-Athletes, who have achieved a 3.3 or better cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of each semester.

Candidates must be members in good standing of a Sage varsity athletic team and full-time students at Sage for at least two semesters before being eligible for selection to the scholar-athlete team.
