AMSTERDAM – The Amsterdam boys bowling team finished second Wednesday at the Big 10 Tournament.
Christian Brothers Academy won the team title with a total of 3,852 pins, while the Rams were second with 3,806 pins. Schenectady (3,781) was third, Albany (3,567) was fourth and Catholic Central (3,295) was fifth.
Albany’s Eric Schoentube was named the league’s MVP, while Albany’s James Brown earned the Exceptional Senior Award. Both Schoentube and Brown also were named first-team all-stars.
Amsterdam’s Billy McGaffin also was named to the first team along with Schenectady’s Zachary Schellenger, CBA’s Chris Radliff and Bishop Gibbons’ Janelle Irwin.
Amsterdam’s Jake Cetnar and Ben Patrick were named second-team all-stars. Also named to the second team were Albany’s Jehron Cherry, Schenectady’s T.J. Disbrow, Schenectady’s Troy Rose and LaSalle’s Jordan Crandall.
Schoentube, Brown, Disbrow, Rose, Crandall and Cetnar were named to the all-senior team as well.
