BUFFALO – Gloversville graduate Victoria Blakeslee, a sophomore on the SUNY Potsdam women’s swimming and diving team, was part of the school-record setting 400 freestyle relay team at the SUNYAC Championships at Erie Community College on Saturday.
Blakeslee, Kylie Barr, Emily Kanoza and Liz Ringer combined to post a time of 3:46.43 in the 400 freestyle relay. Blakeslee then set a Bears’ record in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 18:28.31 and also qualified for the B final in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:16.95.
On Friday, Blakeslee was part of the 200 medley relay team that set a school-record time of 1:53.45 to qualify for the finals. Blakeslee also reached the B final in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:49.52.
On the first day of the SUNYAC Championships on Thursday, Blakeslee was part of the 400 medley relay team that set a school record of 4:08.5, shattering the old mark of 4:14.79. Potsdam finished sixth in the finals in the 400 medley relay.
During the SUNYAC Championships’ three days, the Bears won two individual conference titles, set 14 school records and one conference mark.
Potsdam finished eighth in the team standings with 137 points, while Geneseo won the team title with 732 points.
