SCHAGHTICOKE – Cassidy Chapko scored 24 points to lead top-seeded Hoosic Valley to a 62-32 win over eighth-seeded Fort Plain in the quarterfinals of the Section II Class C girls basketball tournament Friday.
The Lady Indians jumped out to a 20-2 lead after one quarter on their way to the win.
Kimberly Kocienski finished with eight points for Hoosic Valley, which had 11 different players score.
Haley Kilmartin scored eight points to lead Fort Plain, while Jenna Barhydt and Kendra Trembley each finished with seven points.
Hoosic Valley (17-3 overall) advances to Wednesday’s semifinals at Cohoes High School. The Lady Indians will play fourth-seeded Hoosick Falls at 7:30 p.m. Hoosick Falls topped fifth-seeded Duanesburg on Friday, 61-52.
Fort Plain finished its season with a 16-3 overall record.
