JOHNSTOWN – Both the Fulton-Montgomery Community college men’s and women’s basketball teams have been placed in the Region III quarterfinals as the tournament brackets were announced Sunday.
The women’s team earned the No. 4 seed after finishing the season with a 17-7 record. The Lady Raiders will face No. 5 Finger Lakes CC on Friday at 3 p.m. The winner will face the winner of a game between No. 1 Mohawk Valley and the winner of Tuesday’s subregional contest between No. 8 Tompkins-Cortland Community College and No. 9 Schenectady Count Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday. All games from the quarterfinals onward will be played at Mohawk Valley Community College.
The men’s team finished the season 15-11 and earned the No. 5 seed and an appointment with Mohawk Valley Community College in Friday’s quarterfinals. The winner will play the winner of a game between Herkimer County Community College and the winner of Tuesday’s subregional game between No. 8 Finger Lakes Community College and No. 9 Onondaga Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The championship game will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. All games from the quarterfinals onward will be played at the State University of New York at Delhi.
